Rev. Jonathan Hilliard, Pastor

A graduate of Averett University and the John Leland Center for Theological Studies, Jonathan began serving as Pastor of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church in March of 2017. He and his wife, Bethany live in Danville with their children Levi (3) and Mary Christine (2). Additionally, Jonathan ministers through song with his wife and father in a trio called The New Hilliards. 

Jonathan Hilliard is a native of Danville, Virginia. He received his BS degree from Averett University and then his Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies from The John Leland Center for Theological Studies.

Jonathan was ordained in 2004 by Moffett Memorial Baptist Church and has pastored 3 churches.

Jonathan is a strong supporter of the BGAV and has served on several mission related committees. He is also often called on to speak or lead worship at BGAV Gatherings at Eagle Eyrie.

Jonathan’s wife, Bethany, has been a professional educator for the majority of her career. In 2016 Bethany began a new career in insurance representing Hilliard Insurance Solutions and AFLAC.

Jonathan’s hobbies and interests include strength training, yoga, softball, Orioles Baseball, Saints Football, travel, fishing, movies, theatre, and a good book.

Hannah Taylor, Associate Pastor

Hannah Taylor was called as Associate Pastor at Moffett in August 2015.  Prior to Moffett, Hannah served as the Minister of Music for three years at First Baptist Church Elm Mott in Waco, Texas. She comes to Danville all the way from Texas.  She was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana but was raised in Liberty, Texas for most of her life.  She attended college at Baylor University in Waco, Texas and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Church Music in May 2012.  After earning her bachelor's degree, she attended Truett Seminary located on the Baylor University campus and received her Master of Divinity in August 2015.  Hannah moved to Danville in October 2015 with her yellow lab, Toby.  Hannah is excited to be serving at Moffett and sharing the love of Christ with others in the community.
